Throughout the year, we all regularly celebrate Masturbation - the Art of Making Love to Ourselves. So why dedicate a month to it?

One of the main reasons I promote May as Masturbation Month is to increase awareness that Masturbation is a healthy, normal, natural gift from God. Masturbation is that special time in which we celebrate the love we have for ourselves. It's not a lesser substitute for having sex with others. It is in itself a very important, integral part of our own sexual, spiritual, emotional and mental well-being.

There should never be any fear, guilt, shame, or ridicule associated with it. As noted therapist, Dr. Debora Phillips, states: “The list of bad things about masturbation can be summed up in a word: Nothing. Except the attitude that masturbation is shameful.” Yet sadly, many people today still feel those negative emotions about Masturbation.

If you ever feel any negative emotions about Masturbation then replace those feelings with the fact that Masturbation is a Gift from God. It is a Blessing - A Pure and Joyful Pleasure of Loving Yourself.  

There are many more (Joyful) reasons I support and promote Masturbation Awareness Month, but I will try to discuss them later this month.
