Bryen chats with trans and community activist Susan Gapka on what’s happening with Bill C-279 among other things, Nick Mulé from Queer Ontario who will update us on all the work that organization is doing, and Toronto film director Mars Roberge will tell us all about the Canadian premiere of his movie, The Little House That Could, which will be screening in Toronto next month.

Louise reaches Leigh Eric Schmidt, the author of Heaven's Bride (Basic Books). The narrative brings to light, the compelling life of the late victorian sexologist, scholar and mystic, Ida C. Craddock. Starting from a frank defense of bellydancing, she went on to develop marital pamphlets, exploring aspects of genital anatomy, companionate and sacral dimensions of pleasure, with emphasis on women's rights and feelings in sexual matters. Craddock's assertion that she had a marital bond with a spirit called Soph was most startling. She was arrested and tried repeatedly on obscenity charges, in challenging taboos that limited women's lives.
